Would The A’s Have Home Field Advantage Over The Wild Card Tigers, Even Though The Tigers Had A Better Record?

Filed in Category Tigers

Yes the A’s would have home field advantage first because they are a division winner and the Tigers are just a Wild Card team.
The 1st Game would be played October 10th in Oakland but if somehow the Yankees come back and win the next 3 games then the A’s would not get there first home game till October 13th.
It doesn’t matter who the A’s play bring on the Tigers or Yankees they will be ready for any team.
Look at the Starting Pitching that Oakland has with Barry Zito most likely starting Game One, Esteban Loaiza Game 2, Dan Haren Game 3, Rich Harden Game 4 and so on. The A’s also have lights out bullpen with Joe Blanton, Kiko Calero, Justin Duchscherer, Chad Gaudin, Brad Halsey, Joe Kennedy, Kirk Saarloos, Scott Sauerbeck and Huston Street who I think is going to be a light’s out closer!
Also they have good guys that have power like Milton Bradley, Eric Chavez, Mark Kotsay, Jay Payton, Marco Scutaro, Nick Swisher and Frank Thomas.

If the Tigers finish off the Yanks, they will travel to Oakland for game one of the ALCS giving the A’s home field advantage.
