Which would be more rare: A Liger or a Maltese Tiger?

I would like to know which big cat is more rare: a liger or a Maltese tiger. I would think Liger, as you could encourage a tigress and a lion to mate, but I’m not quit sure.

id say a liger as two ligers cant breed to produce fertile offspring and so they cant carry on the species, maltese tigers are simply caused by a different color coat and so would still be able to reproduce.

Ligers because when a lion mates with a tiger, it has to leave its pride and it is really rare to find lone lions. Besides, i live in china and saw 10 Maltese tigers in a zoo.

In the wild it’s a toss up. Ligers are not a naturally occuring cat, but Maltese tigers haven’t been seen in many years.

In captivity Ligers are more common because people purposely breed them. Maltese tigers don’t exist in captivity as far as I know.
