What type of biome do Snow Leopards and Artic Wolves live in?
And can you give me an example of a place?
Do those two animals live in the same biome? Can they? Are the biomes similar?
Is Alaska and Antarctica a tundra?
I know Snow Leopards are found in “Central Asia” but exactly what country??
Can you name some other animals that live in a tundra biome?
Please help, I’m doing a Biology project on it ![]()
Thankies.

Ooook. So Arctic wolves occur in Northern Alaska, Canada and Greenland. The areas they inhabit are considered to be tundra. Snow leopards are slightly more complicated. They are known to be in the mountainous areas in south and central asia. They are known to occur in 12 countries there. There is a great map in the first reference I list below. (I would highly recommend reading this journal article. It would also give scientific support to your project as it is peer-reviewed…found it on google scholar.) At first glance, the snow leopard looks like it would occur in a biome termed the Alpine Tundra, which is not the same as the Arctic/Antarctic Tundra.
For the above listed reason, the arctic wolf and snow leopard are not likely to be able to co-exist due to the fact that they live in two different types of tundra. The wolf lives in the arctic tundra of the western hemisphere, and the leopard in the alpine tundra (mountains) of the eastern hemisphere.
Parts of alaska are tundra, but part is considered to be Taiga or boreal forest. (see 2nd reference…it’s a map of the biomes of the world) Antarctica also has some tundra areas.
The snow leopard can be found in: Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and possibly also Myanmar (Burma). (Ref 3.)
Other animals in the tundra: Arctic Fox, Caribou (seasonal), Ermine, Grizzly and Polar Bear, Harlequin duck, Musk Ox, and the Snowy Owl. (Ref 4)
Hope this helped.
