   serval is what is crossed with domestic cats to produce certain hybrids (the savannah cat)

   cougar (aka mountain lion) lives in the US and is very aggressive

   caracal has large pointed ears but they’re not aggressive and are often tamed and kept as pets because of their docile nature

   Possibly an ocelot or a caracal. Only two cats that are native to america that fit the bill are the bobcat which inhabits most of the United States and the Lynx which inhabits the extreme nothern us and canada.

   lynx or bobcat… they are very pretty critters but don’t get too close, they are lightning fast.
   i saw one a while back crossing a road very early in the morning, i slowed down to watch and he went into a ditch then i saw him jump up and pounce on something in the grass, looked like breakfast time in the prairie.
