What do you think about the LIGER?
Isn’t this a manipulation of nature? the only way this creature could survive is under human care, because nature(God) didn’t intend for tigers and lions to mate for a reason..

First of all, there’s no god.
Second, I don’t care. As long as the animals aren’t being harmed, who gives a crap. Life goes on.
Since I don’t believe in a god that part of your argument doesn’t matter to me. On one hand, the whole thing does seem harmless as long as animals aren’t being harmed. Are there really any ramifications for creating ligers?
I don’t see a point in creating such an animal, lions and tigers are wonderful animals on their own. I do not think that God is offended, however. It’s an interesting idea but I do not see any purpose to it. It looks like a game to me, creating types of animals just to see what the result is. There are good reasons for gene manipulation such as preventing diseases.
That’s a big cat!
Since lions and tigers are being hunted close to extinction by poachers and other idiots (and don’t get me started on that foolishness out in San Francisco), I don’t really have a problem with any work toward saving those species. If Ligers are viable and fertile, then maybe they can be reintroduced back into the lion and tiger gene pool to add some sort of genetic benefits, such as added resiliance against disease.
I think ligers are awesome. Size-wise, they are the closest thing we have to a prehistoric cave lion. Hercules the Liger, by the way, came about naturally since the lion and tiger parents got it on all by themselves. Usually lions and tigers don’t mate because the courtship signals are different and the males get confused. Anyway, whenever they happen, ligers are one of those miraculous creatures we get to admire and marvel at!
both species were fine as they were. i guess they didn’t like what we had before so they decided to go on a power trip and create a new species. served no purpose, just something to look at. i mean did it do something for the human good except to say , ‘ hey look what i made!’ good looking cat, but why?
Ligers are awesome…it’s not necessarily a manipulation, yes this would never happen in the wild because of where these animals live in relation to each other but most handlers maintain that the animals procreate out of their own will. Not sure if I believe that or not but the liger is so cool to me. Now what they do to get white tigers is just messed up. Look into that if you want to be outraged.
