What Do You Call Someone Who Cares For Wild Animals In Their Home, Untill Old Enough To Be Brought Into A Zoo?

Filed in Category Leopards

I was watching Growing up… on Animal Planet, and there was a woman who raised both brother and sister clouded leopards. She cared for them until they got big enough to be introduced to the Zoo. I forgot what she called herself (if thats even a career), but she wasn’t part of the Zoo in anyway, but just raising the cubs part. Have any clue…

Zoos are very selective in the animals they own, and even more careful of the animals they allow to breed. Chances are, that lady, the breeder and everyone involved with the cubs were attached to the zoo in some way.
What would you call these people?
    Baby raisers?
    Foster moms?
The absolute luckiest people on earth? LOL!
Just know these people are rare and blessed, and becoming just as endangered as the babies they raise. Due to insurance issues, zoos aren’t allowing people to care for animals in their homes anymore. They have to stay on zoo property, under the supervision of trained professionals.
    Bummer, right?

Without looking it up, I do not believe there is a name for this type of human, other then ” A Caring Person “
