Haven’t heard of the tigon, but sounds logical. Ligers I’ve seen on the boob.
i’ve heard of a liger
never a tigon
Tigrons are not as large as ligers, but all but a couple are supposed to be sterile. There was one they had on Johnny Carson years ago that was so large that it’s head was ten feet of the ground when standing on it’s hind legs. Gigantic animals and sweet tempered. Not like true wild animals. Tigrons were more like their wild counterparts. More aggressive in captivity. You can put ligers in on your search page and see the different ones they still have. They don’t seem to live as long as normal big cats.
This is the first I have heard of them. Will have to check them out . My son needs to write a report on something and that should work nicely. thank you
Tigons are so cute…but really huge!
yes. seen them in an e-mail. huge.
Yes. Would love to own me some really big kitties.
Here, kitty kitty kitty!
Yes – have seen them too – not too long ago they had them at the Renaissance Fair in Virginia. My grandsons had their pics taken with them
I am a cat lover that is for sure. I know those ligers and tigons are huge cats and they are beautiful. Should would not want to met one.
only ligers, they’re pretty cool…too bad they cant reproduce
wildcats r so cute
Uh huh….and aren’t they cool?! Love cats all cats, big and small!
Yes Tigon offspring of male tiger and lioness
ligers the other way round( I think)
Thanks for this and thanks to doc for the link. I don’t think I like this turn of events. It’s not nice to fool mother nature.
Is a tigion a Tiger and Pigeon by any chance?
Oh that would be funny.
lol.
Yaaay! A flying tiger.
Fully sick.
Yes, but I prefer “mutts”…
All of my fur-faces have been either rescue cats or from the pound.
I lean towards calico’s because they are so pretty but any little mewing kitty will steal my heart in a minute. I could easily become that “crazy cat woman down the street with 150 cats”….HA!
I am currently “catless”. My last dear one had to be put to sleep 2 years ago…she was 21 years old. A year previous, I had to put my 19 year old black long-haired to sleep. She was the “queen of all things”. I miss them.
I retired 2 years ago, shortly before they were gone. Since then, I travel – alot!!! and have no one to watch animals while I’m gone.
Soooo, I’ll get all this travel over with and when I run out of money or something slaps me upside the head, I will make the trek to get a coupla unwanted ones for companions. We will sit on the sofa together, grow old and take long naps…..
Do you by any chance mean “lygon” – pronounced “liggon”? This is the supposed offspring of a lion and a tiger.
Hope this helps.
Yes, I saw a programme about them, I was stunned at the sheer size of them, just Google them for lots of pics.
Yep, crosses between the tigers and the lions. Very good! They are not desirable animals, kind of like wolves mixed with dogs, but it happens. Kind of odd looking some of them. Stripes where there shouldn’t be and all. I wonder if they are outcasts in the natural world…
i’v seen them on jay leno gigantic kittys
yeah they are huge. supercat.
