Ok I Have An 1yr Old Leopard Gecko On Zoo Med Repti Sand Can I Use This For 6 Months ?

Before I buy the terrarium liner I dint want to go out and buy it since he is doing fine but will when I need to change the sand

    Even if sand were safe, it should be changed once a MONTH, not once every 6 months. That said, just spend the money and buy the reptile carpet. You can order it for less than $3 online. And sand is not worth the risk or unsanitariness at all. And it’s TONS more expensive.

    Pheonix worms are good but sand is not.
    Even though the bag or store employ might say sand is ok to use I wouldn’t. It can cause a whole host of problems for lizards.
    Paper towel, repti- carpet, and newspaper (dried for several weeks) is good. In my tank I use about an inch of sand and then cover it with big slate tiles so mine can’t eat it.

    Your definately going to have to get it off of that sand. Im sure you have paper towels in your home. Use those instead. I hope you havent fed your leo since then. Sand that says its “safe” still isnt.
