I've been to Africa, and we never entered any parks where we had to pay to get in. Most of the animals do live on reserves, but they are not fenced in or taken care of. There is simply more of them on the reserves because they are safe from hunters there; however, they can be found out of the reserves as well. No, this isn’t true for elephants, zebras, and lions. They are still managed to a certain amount. Cold hard fact is they are sometimes culled (Thin the herd by killing the weak and elder) this helps with over population causing starvation in lean years.
