In The Jungle, Which Animal Would Win The Turf Battle, A Gorilla Or A Big Cat (lion, Jaguar…)?
I read a piece in national geographic about gorillas. I’m just wondering if they live in the same areas. What about elephants versus gorillas?

Lions do not live in the jungle and jaguars don’t even live on the same continent as gorillas. Maybe you were thinking or reading about leopards. They do live in the same area as gorillas and there have been reports of them attacking and killing young gorillas and on occasion females. However no leopard could kill a full grown male gorilla unless it was wounded. A full grown male is too strong and has massive canines that would inflict great damage to a leopard. Elephants do not live in the same areas as gorillas but if they did I think the elephant would win.
Hbitat is diff for these animals
By pure technicality the gorilla is the king of the jungle, but a lion could get a gorilla any day. It’d be a big fight, especially with the large silver back ones, but the lions would still prevail.
An elephant would do away with a gorilla in 2 minutes flat.
As for a jaguar the only thing I found was leopard
The leopard’s night vision gave it the upper-hand, but the gorilla managed to wrestle the big cat off. The gorilla bites the leopard’s shoulder, and delivered a crushing blow to the cat’s spine with his arm, killing the cat.
African lions don’t live in jungles, so they wouldn’t stand a chance against gorillas. Jaguars also provide no challenge on account of being in South America. I doubt there’s much overlap between gorillas and elephants either. Most elephants live on the savannah. While forest elephants exist in some places, gorillas tend to favour upland forest. Still, I suppose there’s a chance of overlapping ranges somewhere.
What with one thing and another, gorillas have to depend upon humans for territorial disputes. Oh, and perhaps other gorillas.
