Hello my young friend , I seriously thought of buying a lion cub for $500. from a breeder in San Antonio Tx. Tiger cubs
were $1,000. I thought feed would be apx. $150. a month .
An exotic animal vet informed me that to PROPERLY feed the big cat would be apx. $400. to $600. Ok , that was in my budget . I spent some time at a drive through safari (now closed) with a sumatran tiger that used to be a house pet . She was friendly with me in her enclosure , but this was still dangerous .
The cat was living at this facility because it had mauled it's former owner (she was very sweet with me , but these are dangerous animals that can attack unprovoked) . I later at the same park spent time with a very old weak lion male.
He was still solid as rock though labled infirm. We have all
encountered a house cat that may have had a bad day . Imagine that backed up by 250 to 550 pounds of wild big cat .
State license fees ,etc. would have been only several hundred dollars , but with the real dangers involved , and after much consideration , I decided this was a bad idea.
I hope this answers your questions , it's a cool idea untill we weigh the extreme risks , danger , and cost . Your State
wildlife and / or agrcultural agencies can give you more information .

Here's what a tigon is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigon
It's a male tiger and female lion's baby.
I don't think most domesticated areas would allow you to have one. It's not safe, be realistic.
