bring him a gazelle fly?
Did you research your pet before you got him?
Nature tells the Leo if it’s not moving – it’s most likely dead and full of parasites or bacteria and he shouldn’t eat it.
Pet shops will tell you anything to make a sale. If dead bugs are offered to your reptile, then they recommend purchasing a vibrating bowl to simulate life in the bug. Usually, the bowl just scares the pet.
Your Leo wants live food. He needs either gut loaded crickets or feeder roaches of the proper size. His head will be the feeding guide as he grows and reaches maturity. Prey items should be no larger than the space between his eyes to avoid impaction or a choking hazard.

Gut loaded insects should be dusted with reptile vitamins and calcium powder with D3 every other day for babies and 2-3 times a week for adults.

Supplemental insects should be healthy grub-type worms like Phoenix (high in calcium and nutritious) or Silk (seasonal and eat Mulberry leaves). These can be given as treats several times a week or used to replace a staple insect feeding 1-2 times a week. They can be ordered at your pet shop and are available on line.
