How Can I Convince My Friend That Ligers Are Real?
I know they’re real but she insists on arguing over it. I told her that I seen an episode of some show on animal planet with the Liger in it but she thinks it was fake. I showed her photos on yahoo/google and we seen a couple fakes so she assumed they were all fakes. I looked on Wikapedia and she thinks that is an “unreliable” site (is that true?) and it even had the word “Liger” at dictionary.com but she still didn’t believe me! I also went on Y!A and looked up the question ‘are ligers real’ and everyone said yes. I wouldn’t be so upset if she didn’t bother me about it all the time saying it’s hilarious that I believe in a “fairytale”. She said no one she knows has ever heard of the liger and it was in Napolean Dynamite so it’s got to be fake. She also says that it isn’t a part of the circle of life.

One possibility is to give up trying. If she chooses not to believe in them, this won’t have any effect upon ligers.

I have a friend who doesn’t beleive in dinosaurs. I’ve taken her to museums, looked at pictures etc but in the end I had to give up. You could try telling your friend that she is right, it is a fake, but only in that it’s a human assisted creature (ie, it wont happen in the wild) but thats just like a mule being a horse – donkey cross. Does she think they are fake too?
OR..you could tell her about the tigon, (male tiger, female lion),zorse (zebra and horse), dzo (cow and yak), wolphins (whale and dolphin), or Motty the African/Asian elephant hybird, just to really get her going!!!
I guess they really cannot be considered part of the circle of life since they really would never occur in the wild and only exsit because of human interference. I don’t really know what to say about your friend though, I thought it was commonly know that ligers are real. I found a video on youtube and it is from national geographic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zOWYj59BXI&feature=related), so aside from that you would have to show your friend in person. If she still does not believe you then you will just have to accept that your friend may stay in the dark on this topic forever.
