Difference Between Tigons And Ligers?

I know about there parental differences (liger has lion father and female mother and vice versa for tigon) however how do they differ appearance wise, physical difference or any problems that occur in them that does not in liger?

A liger is the offspring of a male lion and female tiger, whilst a tigon is the offspring of a male tiger and female lion. Ligers tend towards gigantism and are generally larger than either of their parents, whilst tigons are generally smaller or at least no larger than their parents. Ligers are usually lighter in colour – they are of similar colour to a lion, but have faint stripes. Tigons are usually darker in colour, more closely resembling the orangey colour of a tiger. Male ligers often have a small mane, rather like that of an adolescent male lion, whilst male tigons usually lack this. The faces of both are often a rather odd shape, like a combination of lion and tiger, but in general the liger’s resembles a lion’s more closely and a tigon’s a tiger’s.
Like most hybrids, both ligers and tigons are usually sterile, but occasionally a female will be fertile and can be bred back to a male lion or tiger, producing:
    Lion + liger = li-liger
    Lion + tigon = li-tigon
    Tiger + liger = ti-liger
    Tiger + tigon = ti-tigon
Since these crosses will be three-quarters lion or tiger, they tend to resemble either a lion or a tiger to a greater degree than a 50/50 cross does.
Respectable zoos frown on the breeding of hybrids such as ligers and tigons, as they have no value from a conservation point of view and are taking up space and resources that could be used to breed endangered species. They are basically freaks bred by unscrupulous zoos in order to make money out of people willing to pay to see them. Today, there is very little chance of them occurring in the wild – tigers are found only in Asia, lions in Africa and the Gir Forest of India, where there are no tigers. Historically, the Asiatic subspecies of lion had a much greater range which overlapped with that of the tiger, so it is possible, though unlikely, that they may once have sometimes occurred in the wild.

Ligers look more like lions eg. more of the light tawny colour of a lion and the head looks more like a lion’s.
Tigons look more like tigers, with more of the red colour showing, more stripes and the facial structure more towards a tiger.
Also ligers grow very large for some reason to do with the combination genes.

It is all genes. Why do you look one way, but a brother and sister could look different.
