Could A Man Take A Cheetah In Hand To Hand Combat? Perhaps With A Knife? Is This Feasible?
I have an ongoing argument with a friend on the topic of one of Africa’s big cats: cheetahs. I believe that it would be possible for a man to be able to defeat a cheetah in hand to hand combat, or lightly armed. Despite the cheetah’s natural advantages, I believe that this is possible.

A cheetah would prevail in strength without a doubt, but they’re not smart enough to invent gunpowder and rifles.
You sure as H@#$ can’t outrun it. In the event you end up in hand to hand combat-although technically I think it would be hand to paw as cheetah’s don’t have thumbs- You might want more than a knife cause the cheetah has five knives on each paw and a mouth full of them too. although I suppose in theory you might be able to kill it if you got really lucky. Maybe better if you had a couple of Wolverine claws or something…Better chance with a cheetah than a lion at last it doesn’t hunt in a pack.
Unarmed there’s pretty much no chance; a big cat would be just far too strong. The only way to kill it would be to snap the neck, but how you’d manage to do that before being mauled to death I have no idea.
With a knife or short, pointed instrument, there is a chance; a well placed stab or deep cut could render it unconscious after only a few seconds and dead within a couple minutes… hopefully the cheetah would be too weak/shocked/scared to attack for those few seconds. You’d have to be both very lucky & skilled to get your placement just right without being killed first though.

A man would need something more than “lightly armed”… I think people really underestimate how strong other animals are. Humans are actually quite weak in physical strength compared to other animals. Our ability to lift things heavier than us is almost nonexistant while other animals, even ants, can lift many times their own weight.
A man with a knife ain’t gonna do jack against a cheetah.
Well being a Cheetah myself, I have fought many men in hand-to-hand combat. With me prevailing triumphantly.
if when the cheetah lunged at the man and the man had his knife out to stab him in mid air as he struck???? a lucky hit at the heart area
that would depend. If the human was hiding and jumped out of nowhere then the human might have a chance IF it had a knife.
