Can I use Zoo Med Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate for my leopard gecko?


Can i use that as my substrate? And i use repti carpet but she is full grown now and i want to know if i can use it. If not what is the best sand to use?

    Yes you can. It’s perfect for leo’s. It’s very much like their natural environment and it also gives you a natural look for your set up. Much safer alternative than sand is.

    A couple things to point out. Wait until the clay mixture is pretty much dry before putting your leo in their.

    Don’t use a heating pad with this substrate. Your gecko could burrow all the way down to the glass and an under tank heat pad would be way too hot. You could risk burning your leo.
