Are Ligers And Tigons The Same? If They Are Different, How So?

Filed in Category Answers about Ligers

The father of a liger is a lion and its mother is a tiger. Ligers tend to be larger than either of their parents. The parents of a tigon are a male tiger and a female lion. Tigons tend to be smaller and more wirey than either of their parents. Both female ligers and female tigons can be fertile, but males are always sterile.
