   Well, if the creation of mules is allowable under the law, the breeding doesn’t have to occur within the same species. Only the same kind, which I take to mean further up in the taxonomic classifications such as family or genus.

   Besides, the carnivora never read the Law.

   I doubt that animals would naturally mate with others outside their own kind without human intervention. If there are such things as Ligers and Tigons, I am sure it is the result of human genetic meddling.

   Most likely, lions and tigers came from the same feline created kind that some time in the past split into separate “species”. If so, ligers and tigons probably then would be closer to what the ancestral kind once was like, as they share genes from both.

   Only with human intervention. Think dogs, coyotes and wolves, in the wild they are competitors for the same resources, wolves will kill coyotes, as will big capable dogs, coyotes, in a pack will kill dogs, especially small ones, and eat them.
   The thing about lions and tigers, they are not indigenous to any regions that overlap or are close enough to be in range of each other.
   Hybridizing two subspecies defeats natural selection, all species are specialized, some more than others, what is a good form and color for a Lion is not what is a good form and color for a tiger, besides which Lions are social and Tigers are solitary.
   It’s wrong to mess with mother nature!
   Cross breeding sub-species is contrary to the rhythm of life.
   Cross bred animals live sad, confused lives in confinement, they can not be introduced to the wild.
   They can not be trusted as companions to humans, you can not make a pet out of a wolf cross, or a liger. They should not ever be produced in the first place, poor creatures.
